Exhibit at the Tokyo International Gift Show (Spring) in 2022
~Proposal for use in offices and halls as a new "healing space
February 1, 2022
Taiyo Kogyo Corporation
(Tokyo headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Hidefumi Araki), a manufacturer of large membrane structures (tent structures), civil engineering and logistics materials, and other products, will exhibit its first membrane “healing space” at the 93rd Tokyo International Gift Show (Spring) to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from February 8 (Tuesday) to 10 (Thursday), 2022. (Osaka, Japan) will exhibit a membrane “healing space” for the first time at the 93rd Tokyo International Gift Show (Spring) to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from February 8 (Tue.) to 10 (Thu.), 2022.
The newly developed low-temperature sauna is characterized by its lower temperature (40°C or lower) compared to conventional saunas, and is a space that businessmen can enter while wearing their daily clothes or shirts. Recently, “warming up” with a low-temperature sauna has been attracting attention due to its relaxing effect and expected improvement in blood flow. The low-temperature sauna exhibited here was developed with the concept of “entering with clothes on” in mind so that people can enjoy “warming up” even more easily. The healing space is composed of a soft, light-permeable membrane material, making it lightweight and easy to carry and install. It becomes a “healing space” that can be easily installed in offices, commercial facilities, and open spaces. At the Tokyo International Gift Show, two types of products will be exhibited: a cylindrical type made of fluorine (PTFE) resin and a trapezoidal type made of polyolefin resin. With this exhibition, we aim to introduce these products on a full-scale basis to companies and facilities in Japan.
Due to the popularity of the manga “Sa-do” (written by Tanaka Katsuki) and the influence of the Corona disaster, there is currently an unprecedented sauna boom. The sauna term “totonou” was nominated for the “2021 You-Can New Words and Trendy Words Award,” and has become a social phenomenon. In response to this boom, a “Sauna Fair” will be held for the first time at the Tokyo International Gift Show. We plan to promote the unprecedented “healing space where you can enter with your clothes on” made of membrane and lightweight, and to promote full-scale commercialization of the product by taking in various opinions from users through the exhibition.
development chronology
We are committed to wellbeing, which emphasizes the health and happiness of our employees. From this perspective, we began development with the idea of applying our existing membrane structure technology to provide a healing space that would improve the comfort of the work environment. We are also focusing on the development of disaster prevention products, and saw stress reduction in evacuation shelters for disaster victims as a major issue. We began to develop “healing spaces” by maximizing the light and bright characteristics of membrane structures for use in both everyday office spaces and evacuation shelters in the event of a disaster. We have developed various products such as “MEDICON,” a protective suit for visiting patients, and an air-tube emergency evacuation bridge, which have been commercialized with various improvements to meet the needs of the world under our development policy of products that are useful to society. Through this exhibition, we will continue to reflect on what a “healing space” means to each and every one of us in our future product development.
