Taiyo Kogyo Corporation Hidefumi Araki, President and Representative Director of Taiyo Kogyo Corporation, which has the largest market share in the world for large membrane structures (tent structures) such as the Tokyo Dome, has published a book entitled “Handling Manual for Work,” which describes his work ethic and the lessons he has learned from his own experiences as a working adult. The book will be available in stores from Wednesday, February 5, 2012. Hidefumi Araki himself authored the book, “Handling Manual for Work – Is Strawberry on Your Shortcake? *1 is a business book published by Hakuya Shobo, Inc. and will be available in stores on February 5 (Wed.). The book is aimed at everyone involved in “work,” from pre-employment students and those who are currently working somewhat, to managers and those involved in management. The author compares “a given job to a shortcake and what is important at work to a strawberry,” and asks what obstacles he faced and overcame on his way from a factory floor worker to the president of a company with sales of 40 billion yen at the age of 50. The author also shares his experiences of how he faced and overcame obstacles on his way to becoming the president of a company with 40 billion yen in sales at the age of 50, while comparing his growth to that of other people. The book contains a number of messages that have been delivered in “delivery classes” that are popularly held at various schools, as well as “strong beliefs” as a practitioner who continues to accomplish great tasks by maximizing the potential of his colleagues, which are woven into the text written by his own hands, not in words. This book was started with the hope that by teaching “how to handle work” to people who are working hard but not achieving results, we would help them realize their strengths that they were not aware of, and encourage them to play an active role in their work. It took about a year and a half to complete the project. The author himself is currently “implementing reforms” to have the world recognize the value of his company as the president of Taiyo Kogyo Corporation, and concludes the book with a positive, true story that is in tune with the feelings of the readers. Although the publication of this book is part of the author’s private activities, we hope that the author’s message will spread widely throughout the world and increase the number of people who are active in society, even if only one person. 1: This book will be available at bookstores nationwide and online at a list price of 1,500 yen plus tax (1,650 yen including tax). In addition, we call ourselves a “membrane manufacturer” and have developed a variety of products using our “membrane surface technology” not only in the field of construction, but also in the field of environmental protection and disaster response, including transportation containers (flexible container bags) for logistics, impervious sheets buried at final waste disposal sites, and anti-pollution membranes to prevent contamination of the sea surface in port construction projects, which have occurred frequently in recent years. We are currently developing a variety of products using our “membrane surface technology.
