Participated in “Nankai Rescue 2024! Demonstration of air tent setup to support disaster response with the Self-Defense Forces

Taiyo Kogyo Corporation participated in “Nankai Rescue 2024,” an actual operational training exercise for a hypothetical giant Nankai Trough earthquake organized by the Japan Self-Defense Forces on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

In this training, I was in charge of instructing the participants on how to set up the “McQuick Shelter,” an air tent that can be quickly set up in the event of an emergency or disaster. I demonstrated with the participants how to quickly set up the tent and how to use it practically.

The McQuick Shelter has earned a reputation for durability and ease of setup, and is widely used as a medical base and evacuation shelter in disaster areas.

In this training, participants actually experienced how quickly the shelter can be set up, and shared knowledge that will help them respond quickly in the event of a disaster.
