Proprietary development of conductive flexible container bag “Conductive EVA Ticon

(Tokyo headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Yumi Nomura), a manufacturer of large membrane structures (tent structures), civil engineering and logistics materials, has recently succeeded in developing a unique running-type conductive flexible container bag. The bags will be marketed under the product name “Conductive EVA Ticon” and will be available for rent and sale from August 2025.

Conductive EVA Ticon is a logistics material for transporting fine powders such as toner binder, flour, and milk powder. The transportation of fine powders requires a bag that quickly eliminates static electricity when static electricity is generated due to the danger of dust explosion. Conductive EVA Ticon is laminated with carbon-containing polyethylene (PE) on the inner surface of the bag to quickly eliminate static electricity. When filling or discharging fine powder, a ground wire can be connected to the ground terminal on the bag to prevent leakage of static electricity (photo shows the Conductive EVA Ticon with the ground terminal connected).

Until now, bags that can be used only once or several times, called cross-type bags, have been widely used for transporting fine powders that pose a risk of dust explosion. This time, by developing and operating a running type bag that can maintain its conductive performance even after 60 washings (assuming 60 washings, the bag will normally be used for about 10 years), we will provide an environmentally friendly distribution environment for fine powders that does not require disposable bags.

In July 2025, we took over conductive flexible container products (former DIATENER EC) from Mitsubishi Chemical Infratec Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Katsuya Serizawa). We will offer two running type conductive flexible container bag products in response to shippers’ requests.

Since last year, Taiyo Kogyo has been conducting washing tests, filling and draining tests, and trial tests (field tests) with some customers in preparation for the full-scale introduction of “Conductive EVA Ticon”. As a result, even after 60 cycles of washing, filling, and discharging, the leakage resistance has remained within the standards of domestic and international standards* and has achieved a high level of quality.
