Expo Sauna “Sun Buds” International Exchange Event

(Tokyo headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Yumi Nomura; hereafter “Taiyo Kogyo”), a company involved in large-scale membrane structures (tent structures) and civil engineering and logistics materials, held an international exchange event on September 12, 2025 (Friday) at the Expo ‘2025 sauna “Sun Buds” (Future Life Zone) within the Expo site. (Future Life Zone), an international exchange event themed “Expo x World Peace x Sauna” was held on Friday, September 12, 2025, in anticipation of the International Day of Peace (September 21).

Seven staff members from various countries involved in overseas pavilions participated in the event. The sauna experience provided an opportunity for exchange that transcended differences in nationality and culture, and the participants shared a time of “to-toto” with each other to expand the circle of peace. After the event, all participants wrote “Messages for Peace” and took photos to commemorate the International Peace Day.

The “Sun Buds” is an MISHOP event facility where visitors can experience the theme of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, “Designing a Future Society Where Life Shines Brightly. It features a beautiful form full of vitality, as if petal-like air membrane cushions have gathered to form a single bud, stretching toward the sun. The sun’s energy descends on the “sun buds,” which are covered with the air of the sea, plants, and trees. The space created by the delicate and strong membrane is filled with the energy of nature, and is intended to harmonize our body and soul and bring us back to our origins as human beings.

This event was held with the aim of refreshing the minds and bodies of Expo staff through the sauna, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and contributing to the realization of a peaceful society. Taiyo Kogyo will continue to actively support international exchange and cultural transmission through the warm and soft space created by membrane materials such as “sun buds”.
