Installed a telescopic tent at “Green Hydrogen Park – Hakushu”.

Suntory Natural Water Hydrogen production facility adjacent to the Suntory Southern Alps Hakushu Plant, - The telescopic function of the bellows reduces the load on crane operations, etc.

(Tokyo headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Yumi Nomura), a company involved in large-scale membrane structures (tent structures) and civil engineering and logistics materials, has constructed a telescopic tent at the Green Hydrogen Park – Hakushu (Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture), a green hydrogen production facility adjacent to the Suntory Natural Water Southern Alps Hakushu Plant that will begin operation in October 2025. The hydrogen park is located in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, adjacent to Suntory Natural Water’s Southern Alps Hakushu Plant, which began operations in October 2025.

The telescopic tent (bellows house) adopted for this project is a membrane structural building with the ability to expand and contract like a bellows. In addition to streamlining the receiving and shipping of stored items, it also allows large vehicles to smoothly enter and exit, and long and heavy items to be moved in and out with crane operations. The crane operation used for equipment maintenance was taken into consideration for this adoption.

Membrane structures are characterized by their low environmental impact compared to typical buildings. By reducing the weight of the components, the amount of steel frame is reduced and transportation efficiency is improved, resulting in a significant reduction in environmental impact. The lightness of the building itself also eliminates the need for piling work for the foundation, thereby shortening the construction period.

The membrane material used in this project has a high solar reflectance that reduces the rise in room temperature. Its high light transparency creates a bright, open interior space and contributes to reducing daytime lighting costs. The building is a safe and sustainable multi-purpose building that is flexible, earthquake resistant, and fireproof.

The Green Hydrogen Park – Hakushu is part of a project promoted by Yamanashi Prefecture and 10 participating companies*1 in the Green Innovation Fund*2 of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
