Corona Corporation launches “Macro”, a tent-based in-hospital zoning system born from the voices of healthcare professionals.

~Installation takes about 1 minute. Supply of "visible" products for infection prevention in hospitals will begin in September.

(Tokyo headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Hidefumi Araki), a “membrane manufacturer” that produces large membrane surface structures (tent structures), began selling the “Macro (membrane path)” tent system for zoning to clearly separate dangerous areas from safe areas within facilities on September 29. The company has started to sell the tent system “Macro” on September 29.

Nosocomial infection is said to be the most serious problem in the spread of new coronaviruses. It is considered important to protect healthcare workers from invisible viruses and to provide safer patient care. Although the concept of facility zoning has existed for some time, the challenge is to control contact infections, which are the main cause of nosocomial infections, as people are busy with their work.

We have developed a zoning system called “Macro (membrane pathway)” using tents, which enables visible flow control and space separation as a preventive measure against infectious diseases such as the new coronavirus, based on repeated interviews with staff entering and leaving contaminated zones. This system prevents contact infections during traffic, which is a risk of infection in medical facilities, and ensures the safety of medical personnel and facility users.

The installation of zoning gates at entrances and exits allows everyone to know the extent of zoning at a glance. In addition, the tent’s internal passageways are divided by a membrane to allow one-way traffic, preventing errors in habitual behavior and avoiding contact infection and close proximity. In addition, the hybrid air tent, which uses air tubes and rods, can be set up quickly by a small number of people and in about one minute. The tent can be quickly set up in an emergency to provide the necessary space. For zoning within a facility, unlike ordinary tents, we offer a range of sizes from 2 meters to fit the width of aisles within a facility. After use, the tents can be washed and used over and over again. Lightweight, space-saving when stored, and the ability to add lighting, simple windows, and other options to suit the intended use are the greatest features of the membrane material.

This product is expected to be used not only in hospital facilities, but also in a variety of other situations, such as in line operations at manufacturers, and in observation corridors in factories. We hope to contribute to the safety of healthcare workers who respond to the new coronavirus and, by extension, to the containment of the spread of the new coronavirus by using the technologies and know-how we have cultivated in the field of membranes and tents.
