Taiyo Group Holds Joint New Employee Training Session
Embodying the Taiyo Group’s “Power to See Things Through” and “Co-Creation”
Held at livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK, a group collaboration facility
2026.05.15

Taiyo Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka Headquarters: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Yuki Nomura;hereinafter: Taiyo Kogyo), TSP Taiyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President: Kago Ikezawa; hereinafter: TSP Taiyo), an event consulting firm; and Actio Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumitaka Tanano;hereinafter “Actio”) held the “Everest Training” leadership simulation for 32 new employees on Friday, April 24, 2026.
This program is based on a simulation used at Harvard Business School and is designed to provide hands-on learning about decision-making and teamwork under extreme conditions. The venue is the livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK, in which TSP Taiyo participates and helps operate.Within the facility, the Brillia Running Stadium—which Taiyo Kogyo helped relocate and construct—serves as the “base camp.” The program is structured so that new employees, equipped with iPads, physically move around the venue while repeatedly making judgments in response to situations that change in real time.
This training is part of a talent development initiative aimed at realizing “One Taiyo,” which seeks to create value across all groups. In addition to fostering cooperation, a sense of responsibility, and discipline through organizational activities, participants gained hands-on experience with challenge, flexibility, and leadership in an environment simulating a team’s attempt to climb Mount Everest. This was designed to help them internalize the Taiyo Group’s core behavioral principles: “the power to see things through” and “co-creation.”

A Glimpse into the Everest Training Program: Teamwork Beyond Company Boundaries
During the training, teams of five to six new employees are formed. Each member is assigned a different role and “confidential information,” and the program is designed so that no single person can arrive at the optimal solution based on their own information alone. As they faced simulated challenges—such as deteriorating weather and unexpected problems—the teams evolved into close-knit units that shared information with one another. By thoroughly coordinating the division of roles and the consolidation of information within their teams, they demonstrated the organization’s ability to execute, with some teams even achieving the extremely difficult goal of “all five members reaching the summit.”

livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK Overview
The “livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK,” which served as the venue for the training session, is an urban sports hub spanning approximately 3.1 hectares that opened on October 12, 2024.Under the motto “Turning the former site into a sacred place where everyone can play,” the facility features a skateboard park, a bouldering center, a 3×3 court, a rope adventure course, and dining and retail options, creating an environment where sports and social interaction naturally intersect.Tokyo Sports Wellness Village Co., Ltd.—comprising Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (the lead company), TSP Taiyo, and Nippon Television Axon Co., Ltd.—led the development and operation of the facility.

Brillia Running Stadium Overview
Brillia Running Stadium, a training facility for athletes with disabilities aspiring to become Paralympians, was constructed in December 2016 with Taiyo Kogyo’s involvement. In 2024, it was dismantled and relocated from Toyosu to Ariake to coincide with the opening of “livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK.”The project was recognized with the Architectural Institute of Japan’s Architecture Award (Project Category) for its technical merits, including joint details designed with relocation in mind and the official certification of the ETFE film membrane.
