High-performance fluororesin
ETFE Film
Features of High Performance Fluoropolymer ETFE Film
Earthquake-proof
ETFE film (250 μm) weighs approximately 440 g/㎡ and, as with conventional membrane-structured buildings, can significantly improve earthquake resistance by reducing the load on the building frame. It also has excellent deformation-following properties and does not break and shatter like glass, making interior spaces safer.
Thermal Barrier
The cushioning system and color printing techniques used to achieve thermal barrier performance are used in the entrance hall of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where guests from around the world are welcomed.
Durability
Outdoor exposure tests have confirmed that there is little degradation in strength and translucency. Compared to other transparent materials that lose translucency over time, ETFE film can retain translucency for a long period of time due to its high durability.
Transparency
It maintains high transmittance in all areas of ultraviolet, visible light, and infrared rays. It can also be colored or printed to block out light in specific areas.
Weather Resistance
It maintains its function as a material that is less susceptible to ultraviolet rays and air pollution over a long period of time.
Thermal insulation
Two (or three) layers of ETFE transparent film can improve thermal insulation performance by trapping air. The effect can be equivalent to that of dressed glass. Thermal barrier properties can also be improved by coloring or printing.
Advantages of Installation for
High-performance fluoropolymer ETFE
Accelerate energy savings by safely incorporating light
Reduces lighting power consumption by providing stable daylight in corridors.
It is used in station corridors because of its high transmittance, maximum transmittance area that can be maximized by framing, and lightweight (approx. 0.5 kg/㎡) and flexible characteristics that reduce the risk of breakage or falling due to earthquakes.
The transparent roof also gives it an airport feel.
The parking and drop-off lanes were installed so that users of the parking and drop-off lanes can comfortably come and go from the terminal building even on rainy days.

Bring in sunlight and grow plants indoors.
The photo on the right shows a facility for cultivating algae indoors, where the high light transparency of ETFE allows the algae to take in sufficient sunlight for photosynthesis to promote growth.
